February 22, 2019 an Officer noticed a gray Scion TC without use of headlights or rear lighting and the vehicle was weaving within its lane of travel. The Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Linden Street. While speaking to the driver, identified as Jesus Romero-Zamudio, the Officer observed slow responses to simple questions and detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Romero-Zamudio was asked to submit to a series of field sobriety tests to determine if he had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. As a result of the field sobriety tests, Jesus Romero-Zamudio was taken into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance, transported for a chemical blood test and taken for processing. Romero-Zamudio was released from police custody pending a summons for DUI and related charges. Charges were later filed with District Court 15-3-04.
