On Friday April 12, 2019 at approximately 11:15 am the Kennett Square Police Department was advised of a threatening message located at the Kennett High School. The School Administration worked diligently with the Police Department and evacuated the students and staff from the building. The building was cleared and found to be safe with the assistance of The Chester County Sheriff's Office, Upper Moreland PD and Septa Transit PD K9 units. The incident remains under investigation.
The KCSD provided the following message to parents:
This is Jeremy Hritz, principal of Kennett High School. In the past hour, a threat was found written in the bathroom next to the main office. In an effort to ensure the safety of our students, law enforcement has been contacted, and students and staff have evacuated the building. The police are currently working with our administration to search the building to ensure that our building is safe. We will keep you updated as we work through this process.
