On March 5, 2020 at 8:29 am the Kennett Square Police Department was dispatched to a robbery which occurred at S&T Bank in the 200 block of East Cypress Street. The bank was immediately secured by responding patrol officers. Kennett Square Police Department Detectives and Command Staff responded and began actively investigating the crime scene and immediate area. Within minutes officers were able to determine that there was no remaining threat to the surrounding area.
During the incident, a male suspect covering most of his face jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money that he demanded from the bank tellers. There was no weapon displayed. The suspect then fled from the bank and entered a vehicle waiting in the bank parking lot. The vehicle, a blue Chrysler 300, was then located abandoned in an alley one block away from the bank robbery location. This vehicle was reported to have been stolen out of Wilmington Delaware on Saturday February 29, 2020.
