The Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Kennett Square is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.
APPLICANTS’ GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must be a high school graduate or G.E.D. recipient.
• Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all duties and essential job functions of a police officer.
• Possess a valid PA driver's license.
• Possess Act 120 certification from a Certified Pennsylvania Police Academy before receiving a Conditional Offer of Employment.
Applicants must undergo a written examination, physical agility examination, oral examination, background investigation and must meet all requirements of the Civil Service Commission of the Borough of Kennett Square and the requirements of the PA Municipal Police Education and Training Commission. Successful applicant must undergo a polygraph examination.
Applications may be secured at the Kennett Square Police Department at 115 N. Broad Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348 (phone 610-444-0501), Monday through Friday, during normal business hours 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or online through the Kennett Square Police Crimewatch website at www.kennettsquarepd.org and on the Borough of Kennett Square’s website at www.kennettsq.org. The Application must be received by the Kennett Square Police Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 22, 2020. An application fee of $35, payable by cash or check - payable to the Borough of Kennett Square, must accompany the application.
The date, time and location of the physical agility testing, written examination and oral examination shall be scheduled by the Commission and eligible applicants will be advised.
The physical agility testing will be conducted first with the written examination occurring later on the same date. Applicants that pass the physical agility test will move on to take the written examination.
