4th of July

The Kennett Square Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and relaxing 4th of July. We would like to make everyone aware of the current Kennett Square Borough Ordinance regarding the use of fireworks with in the borough limits.

As a reminder, Fireworks which are legally purchased in PA may not be legal with in the borough ordinance. As a guide line any fireworks which are propelled into the air and or have a report (Loud noise or explosion) are prohibited to set off with in the borough. Non-Arial and Non-Exploding fireworks are permitted.

 Article II. - Miscellaneous Fire Prevention Regulations.*

  • Subdivision II. - Fireworks.*
* For state law as to fireworks, see 35 P.S., Sections 1271 to 1277.
  • 7-20 - Discharge generally; exhibitions or displays.

           It shall be unlawful for any person at any time (except for supervised public displays) to use or explode fireworks in accordance with 35 Purdon's Statues Section    1272.

  • 7-21 - Sale, etc.
                  No person shall sell or keep for sale any fire cracker, squib or other fireworks in the borough.
