On April 12, 2019, at approximately 10:00 PM, the Kennett Township Police Department received a report of an erratic driver that had just entered the parking lot of a business in the 700 block of West Baltimore Pike. The caller, an off-duty police officer, reported that he first observed the vehicle haphazardly pull into the parking lot of another business in the 600 block of Millers Hill Road and then leave after getting into a verbal argument with another driver. The vehicle proceeded to travel WB to another store, during which the caller observed the vehicle drift out of its lane multiple times. The operator of the vehicle, was identified as Jeffrey David Miller, 24, of West Chester, PA. Miller showed indicators of impairment and was unable to successfully complete a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or a controlled substance.
