On 9/6/17 just after 3:00pm the Kennett Township Police were contacted by Thomas Riley Jr. He reported a situation where he was forced to stop in an unsafe area for an oncoming school bus that was dropping off a child in the 800 block of Burrows Run Road. He said he was concerned that he was going to get rear-ended and the bus driver forced him to sit there with the red lights and stop sign activated for too long. He said he followed the bus to get the license plate.
The investigation indicated that Riley Jr. followed the bus to the next stop on Balmoral Drive. The bus driver recognized the truck as the vehicle with the agitated driver from the last stop. The bus driver and children aboard became alarmed because the truck parked behind the bus and the driver got out. The bus driver backed up and tried to block the path of Riley Jr. as he approached the side door waving his arm, pointing his finger and taking pictures with his cell phone. Riley Jr. got back in his truck and left.
Thomas Riley Jr., a 65-year-old male of Statler Road in Chadds Ford, was cited with one count of Disorderly Conduct (Summary).
