The North Coventry Township Police Department responded to the Boscov's Department Store for a robbery retail theft in progress. Upon police arrival, Jennifer Adkins of Pottstown was placed under arrest. Through investigation it was determined that Adkins selected merchandise valued at $868.21 and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. Police were advised by Boscov's Loss Prevention that Adkins threatened to use pepper spray to avoid being apprehended and then fled the area. While fleeing Adkins dropped the stolen merchandise, which Boscov's Loss Prevention recovered. The defendant was transported to the Pottstown Police Station processed, and charged with robbery, retail theft, terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of a crime. Adkins was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
