On this date, NCPD responded to the Wawa, 260 W. Schuylkill Road, on the report of a possible intoxicated subject. NCPD received information that the subject was in a green Toyota Prius. Upon arrival, police observed the vehicle parked in space 73 on the west side of the building. Police observed a white male, later identified as William George Beard, sitting in the driver's seat eating and speaking on his cell phone. Police knocked on the window and observed that Beard's movements were slow and labored. While speaking with Beard police noted that his speech was slow and his eyes were pinpointed. Police observed a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey on the passenger's front floor. Beard said that he could not remember the last time that he had a drink and denied using drugs or medication. Police checked Beard for warrants and it was found that Beard's PA Driver's License was suspended. Police seized this license and it was sent to PennDOT Bureau of Driver Licensing. Beard was able to phone a friend and Beard was later released into the custody of his friend. Beard was cited for summary Public Drunkeness via summons. NFA.
