On 11/27/2020 at approximately 2240 hours, officers from North Coventry Township Police Department responded to the parking lot of the Gabe's Department Store for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Vincent Piselli Jr, 55 years old from King of Prussia. Piselli alleged that he had been involved in a minor vehicle accident at Route 422 west and the Route 100 south offramp. Piselli alleged that he was "bumped" by a newer model white Lincoln operated by 3 clean cut black males as he exited from Route 422. Piselli alleged that after looking at the rear of his vehicle for damage, he walked back to his vehicle to obtain his cell phone and insurance card. While walking back to his vehicle, Piselli alleged that the driver of the Lincoln robbed him at gunpoint of approximately $2,600.00 which he had won earlier in the evening at the Valley Forge Casino and Resort. Piselli stated the occupants then left the scene in an unknown direction.
Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that Piselli won $2,615.00 at the casino which he subsequently lost playing games following his cash out in the casino. On 12/12/2020, officers conducted a follow up interview with Piselli who admitted to lying about the incident. Piselli was then processed and released pending a preliminary hearing. Charges were filed against Piselli for false reports to law enforcement as well as disorderly conduct with District Court 15-3-01.
