While the nice weather has arrived in North Coventry Township, NCPD would like to remind our residents on some summer safety tips.
HYDRATION! While outside in the sun make sure you drink more water then you normally do. The rule of thumb is when your outside in the heat and are thirsty, you are already becoming dehydrated!
PETS! Remember when traveling to enjoy the weather with your pets, do not leave them in the car alone while stepping out even for a few minutes. Remember, inside your vehicle can raise 40 degrees higher then it is outside in only 60 minutes time!
VALUABLES! When hanging out at your favorite nice weather area, be it a park or pool, DO NOT leave any valuables inside your car regardless if your vehicle is locked or not. There have been an increased volume of theft from vehicle calls in and around the area. When in doubt, take it with you or leave it at home!
FIREWORKS! Remember firework displays are allowed to be used by adults on private property with permission of the property owner. No displays are allowed on public property. All firework displays are to be done no less then 150 feet from an occupied structure. ONLY SOBER ADULTS over the age of 18 years old are allowed to use fireworks. Please be safe when using any fireworks.
DRIVING! Kids are out of school, so pay extra attention on the roads where kids could be at play!
And lastly, ENJOY YOUR SUMMER! Have a great time with family and friends enjoying the summer of 2022!
