On February 14, 2018 at about 1650 hours, the North Coventry Police responded to the area of Rt. 422 EB between mile marker 173.3 and 173.4 for a one vehicle crash. The Norco Fire Company and Goodwill Ambulance also responded due to the report of injuries. Upon arrival, the police found the vehicle blocking both east bound lanes. Rt. 422 EB was closed at Rt. 724 by Fire Police.
Police spoke with the operator, Thaina Comas. Comas stated that a gray vehicle cut over in front of her vehicle while she was in the right lane. She turned to the right and struck the concrete barrier. Comas' vehicle then crossed over both lanes of traffic and struck the concrete barrier on the left side of the roadway.
Comas was operating a 2006 Nissan Maxima. The Nissan sustained disabling front end damage. Sanatoga Auto Body removed the vehicle from the scene. Rt. 422 was then reopened at Rt. 724.
A male juvenile was transported by Goodwill Ambulance to the Pottstown Hospital for treatment to injuries sustained in the crash.
