On November 4, 2017, at about 0746 hours, the North Coventry Police responded to the area of Rt. 422 EB in the area of the Rt. 724 interchange (between mile marker 173.3 and 173.4) for a two vehicle crash. Unit#1, a white Toyota Camry operated by Alexandria Scafidi, and Unit#2, a black Jeep Patriot driven by Kathy Allwein, were traveling east on Rt. 422. Unit#1 passed Unit#2 in the left lane at the Rt. 724 interchange. While negotiating a left curve in the roadway, Unit#1 left its lane of travel. Unit#1 crossed over the right lane and struck the concrete barrier. Unit#2 swerved into the left lane to avoid Unit#1. Unit#1 came off the barrier and hit Unit#2.
Goodwill Ambulance responded to the scene and transported Scafidi to the Pottstown Hospital for a complaint of pain. Sanatoga Auto Body responded and removed Unit#1 from the scene. Norco Fire Company and Fire Police responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control.
