2 vehicle accident involving a motorcycle
The North Coventry Township Police Department responded to the area of W. Schuylkill Road and Laurelwood Road for the report of a 2 vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival the operator of the motorcycle was lying in the roadway after being thrown from the motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle was stabilized and transported to the North Coventry Fire Department's parking lot by Goodwill Ambulance to an awaiting helicopter. The operator was then flown to Reading Trauma Center with serious injuries.
Officers found that the Honda Goldwing operated by Gary Hagy of Reinholds PA was driving west on W. Schuylkill Road when it went around stopped traffic in the right turn only lane to continue west when it struck a Honda Fit operated by Justin Shtofman of Boyertown as he was turning left onto Laurelwood Road. The accident is still under investigation.
