Officers from the North Coventry Township Police Department were on patrol in the area of W. Cedarville Road and Route 100 when they heard a collision directly behind their patrol vehicle. Officers investigated the incident and found a 3 vehicle collision. The initial striking vehicle was still in gear and actively pushing the vehicles forward. Officers were able to turn the vehicle off and make contact with the driver who was unresponsive with no signs of life. Officers removed the driver of Unit One from the vehicle and provided CPR to the male. The male driver recovered a pulse at the scene and was transported to Pottstown Hospital for treatment for a suspected cardiac episode. It appeared the male had suffered a medical emergency causing the crash. No one was injured as a result of the crash and all vehicles sustained non disabling damage as a result of the collision. North Coventry Township Police Department was assisted by Goodwill Ambulance, North Coventry Fire Company and West Pottsgrove Township Police.
