On 09/29/2019 at approximately 1817 hours the North Coventry Township Police Department responded to westbound Rt. 422 at mile marker 173.3 for the report of a motorcycle accident. Upon arrival officers found that a blue Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Jordan Sims from Pottstown, hit the concrete barriers on the left shoulder of the roadway. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage. The operator was transported to Reading Hospital by Goodwill Ambulance for road rash and lacerations. After speaking with multiple witnesses on scene, it was determined the operator was driving the motorcycle at a high rate of speed and switching lanes. It was also found Sims was operating the motorcycle with a suspended license and without a motorcycle endorsement. The left hand lane of Rt. 422 was closed while the investigation was completed and reopened after the motorcycle was removed from the roadway. The North Coventry Police was assisted by Lower Pottsgrove PD and Norco Fire Company. Sims was cited for driving under suspension, proper class of license required, careless driving, driving vehicle at safe speed and roadways laned for traffic.
