On February 3, 2017 at about 0144 hours, the North Coventry Police Department, along with the Norco Fire Company, responded to the area of 1194 S. Hanover Street for a one vehicle crash into a utility pole. Unit #1, operated by Frances Sheppard, was traveling north on S. Hanover Street when he went off the roadway. Sheppard's vehicle struck a wood split rail fence and sewer pipes at the residence at 1200 S. Hanover Street. The vehicle continued north and crossed over the driveway at 1194 S. Hanover Street. Unit #1 struck the mailbox, street sign, shrubs, and rocks. Unit #1 came to a stop when it struck the utility pole. The utility pole was broken off at the base.
Unit #1 received disabling front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.
There were no injuries reported at the scene. Verizon was notified about the broken pole and later responded to the scene.
