One vehicle crash
On 12/3/2019 at 1138 hrs., NCPD responded to the area of Route 422 west and MM 173.2 on the report of a single vehicle crash. It was reported that the operator had sustained an injury to his hand, but was refusing EMS treatment. Goodwill Ambulance responded to evaluate the reported injury. Upon police arrival the vehicle was found facing west in the center median. The operator was standing on the north shoulder of the highway. Police investigation revealed that unit #1, operated by Justin W. Drupp, of Pottstown, was traveling west on Route 422 in the left lane. Unit #1 was traveling at a high rate of speed. In the area of Route 422 west and MM 173.2, Opr. #1 lost control, while negotiating a right curve in the roadway and struck the center median guide rail. Approximately 75 feet of guide rail and guide rail posts were damaged. Unit #1 sustained disabling front and rear end damage and was towed from the scene. Opr. #1 sustained an unknown injury to his left hand, was seen by Goodwill Ambulance, but refused treatment and or transportation to a hospital. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 1501(a) drivers required to be licensed and PMVC 3714(a) careless driving. NFA.
