One vehicle crash
On 4/29/17 at 0432 hrs. the North Coventry Twp. Police Dept. Responded to Route 422 east and MM 171.2 on the report of a one vehicle crash. Unit #1, operated by Alejandro Guzman, of Reading, was traveling east on Route 422 in the left lane. The highway was wet from current light rain and heavy earlier rain. In the area of Route 422 east and MM 171.2 Opr. #1 did drive at a speed that was greater than was reasonable and prudent for the conditions that existed and lost control of Unit #1, traveling towards the center barrier. Opr. #1 over corrected to the right causing his vehicle to travel south/east across the highway, striking the south side guide rail. Unit #1 continued south/east over the guide rail, down an embankment, striking a traffic sign post and two trees. Unit #1 overturned while coming to final rest facing south/east. Opr. #1 advised of pain in this right arm and right shoulder. Unit #1 passenger Julio Cesa Tenoco-Lemus, of Reading, had visible abrasions down his right arm. Opr. #1 refused medical treatment and or transportation from Friendship Ambulance. Tenoco-Lemus was transported to the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center by Friendship Ambulance for treatment. Unit #1 sustained complete disabling damage and was recovered and towed by Douglassville Auto Body. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3361 Driving Vehicle At Safe Speeds. The North Coventry Police were assisted by the Norco Fire Deparmtent and the Norco Fire Police. Route 422 east was closed to traffic for approximately 1.5 hrs.
