One vehicle crash
On 07/22/2017 at 2043 hrs. the North Coventry Twp. Police Dept. responded to the Route 422 west on ramp from Route 724 on the report of a one vehicle crash. At the time of the crash the weather was active rain and the roadway was wet. Unit #1 was a Ford Ranger, a small pickup truck, with an unknown weight of scrap metal in the rear bed. Unit #1 was traveling on the Route 422 west on ramp from Route 724 at a speed that was greater than was reasonable and prudent for the conditions that existed. Opr. #1, Gleen M. Greenland, 27 of spring City, lost control after negotiating a left curve in the ramp. Unit #1 struck the west side guide rail, continued southwest over the guide rail, down an embankment, striking several small trees and shrubs. Unit #1 sustained disabling front end and undercarriage damage and was towed from the scene by Berks Mont towing to Berks Mont towing. Opr. #1 sustained unknown injury to his mouth and jaw. Opr. #1 refused treatment from Goodwill Ambulance at the scene. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3361 Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed. The North Coventry Twp. Police Dept. was assisted by the Norco Fire Dept. and Norco Fire Police. The ramp was closed to traffic for approximately 2 hrs.
