On 04/14/2018 at 1750 hrs. the North Coventry Twp. Police Department responded to the Route 100 north on ramp to Route 422 east (MM 171.7 - 171.8) on the report of a three vehicle crash. Police investigation revealed that all three units were traveling on the Route 100 north ramp to Route 422 east. Unit #3, operated by Samantha D. Weber, of Spring City, was in front of Unit #2, operated by Robert S. Black, of Harleysville, and Unit #2 was in front of Unit #1, operated by Ryan L. York, of Telford. Unit #1 and Unit #2 were stopped at the end of the ramp waiting to merge onto Route 422 east. Unit #1 did follow Unit #2 at a distance that was closer than was reasonable and prudent for the speed and conditions that existed, and failed to observe stopped traffic in front of it. Unit #1 then struck Unit #2 from behind. Unit #2 was pushed forward and struck the rear end of Unit #3. Unit #1 sustained disabling front end damage and was towed from the scene. Unit #2 sustained disabling rear end damage and was towed from the scene. Unit #3 sustained functional rear end damage and was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported at the time of the crash. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3310(a) following too closely. NCPD was assisted by Goodwill Ambulance, Norco Fire Co., Norco Fire Police and Sanatoga Fire Police.
