Two vehicle crash
On 2/13/18 at 1844 hrs. The North Coventry Police Department responded to the area of Route 724 and the south/west exit of the Coventry Mall on the report of a two vehicle crash. Officer investigation revealed that Unit #1, operated by John Sanderford Jr., of Pottstown, was traveling south on the south/west exit of the Coventry Mall and was stopped at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Route 724. Unit #2, operated by James Epprecht Jr., of Phoenixville, was traveling west in the left lane on Route 724. Unit #1, after stopping for the stop sign, failed to yield to approaching traffic, entered the intersection, and started to turn east on Route 724. Unit #2 attempted to stop, skidded 18 feet and struck Unit #1. Unit #1 sustained disabling driver's front side damage and was towed from the scene. Unit #2 sustained functional driver's side front end damage and was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported at the time of the crash. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3323 stops signs and yield signs.
