Two vehicle crash

On 11/29/2018 at 1547 hours, The North Coventry Township Police Department responded to Route 724 eastbound, west of Sheep Hill Rd. on the report of a two vehicle crash.  In this area there was active utility line / pole work being conducted.  Route 724 east traffic was being controlled by a flagger at the area of the utility work.  Upon Police arrival both units were facing south/east in the eastbound lane of Route 724.  Both operators were standing outside of their vehicles. 

Police investigation revealed that both units were traveling east on Route 724.  Unit #2, operated by William Minemier Jr., of Douglassville, was in front of unit #1, operated by Jayson D. Locke, of Pottstown.  In the area of Route 724 eastbound, west of Sheep Hill Rd. unit #2 stopped due to stopped traffic.  Unit #1 did follow unit #2 at a distance that was closer than was reasonable and prudent for the speed and conditions that existed and failed to stop.  Unit #1 then struck unit #2 from behind.  Unit #1 sustained disabling front end damage.  Unit #2 sustained functional rear end damage.  Both units were towed from the scene.  No injuries were reported at the time of the crash.  Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3310 following too closely.  NFA.
