On 12/31/2018 at 1649 hrs., the North Coventry Twp. Police Dept. responded to the intersection of Route 724 and Route 100 on the report of a two vehicle crash. Upon police arrival one vehicle was facing north/west against the north side guide rail. The operator of this vehicle was still seated in the driver's seat and advised of general pain. Police observed multiple air bags were deployed and requested that Goodwill Ambulance respond as well as Norco Fire Rescue and Norco Fir Police. The second vehicle was parked on the Route 100 north on ramp. The operator of this vehicle advised that he was not injured.
Police investigation revealed that unit #1, operated by Thomas C. Landis, of Pottstown, was traveling east on Route 724 and was in the left turn lane. Unit #2, operated by Patrica Eads, of Spring City, was traveling west on Route 724 and was in the right lane. At the intersection of Route 724 and Route 100 unit #1 intending to turn left at the intersection failed to yield the right-of-way to all oncoming traffic and turned left (north) striking unit #2 in the driver's side. Unit #2 then struck the guide rail on the north side of Route 724. Unit #1 sustained functional driver's side front corner damage and was driven from the scene. Unit #2 sustained disabling side damage and was towed from the scene. Opr. #2 sustained unknown injuries and refused treatment and or transport by Goodwill Ambulance. No other injuries were reported at the time of the crash. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 3322 vehicle turning left.
