Two Vehicle Crash
On 05/07/19 at 1725 hours, the North Coventry Township Police Department responded to the area of WB Rt. 422 @ MM 171.0 for the report of a 2 vehicle crash. Upon arrival Officers located a silver Chevy Malibu operated by David Champing of Pottstown (Unit #1) and a silver Toyota Camry operated by Elliot Segal of St. Peters (Unit #2), blocking the left lane of travel. It was determined that Unit #1 was following to closely behind Unit #2 in the left lane of travel. Unit #2 began decelerating, which caused Unit #1 to strike the rear end bumper of the vehicle, with the front end bumper. After the initial impact, Unit #2 spun 360 degrees, striking the guide rail on the left side of the roadway. The left lane of travel was closed during the investigation and reopened after the vehicles were removed from the roadway by Sanatoga Auto Body. Champing was transported from the scene by Goodwill ambulance to Pottstown Hospital with a head laceration. Assisting NCPD was Norco Fire Company, Goodwill Ambulance and Sanatoga Auto Body.
