On 04/12/19 at 1122 hours the North Coventry Twp. Police Dept. responded to the area of Route 100 south of Lenape Crossing on the report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon police arrival I observed several vehicles pulled off of both sides of the highway. One operator advised of chest pain and Goodwill Ambulance was requested to respond. Police investigation revealed that Unit #1, operated by Jessica Berry, of Pottstown, was traveling south on Route 100. Unit #2, operated by Amanda Cunnius, of Boyertown, was traveling north on Route 100. Unit #1 was hauling three large traffic detour structures (signs) on a flat bed trailer. The structures were not properly secured as to prevent them from dropping or sifting or escaping from the trail while traveling on the highway. In the area of Route 100 south of Lenape Crossing the structures dropped from Unit #1 and struck Unit #2. Unit #1 sustained no damage. Unit #2 sustained functional front and driver's side damage. Opr. #2 advised of chest pain and was transported to the Pottstown Hospital by Goodwill Ambulance for unknown injuries. Opr. #1 was cited for PMVC 4903 Securing Loads in Vehicles. NFA.
