Buckle Up PA / Click It Or Ticket
The North Coventry Township Police Department participated in the 2016 "Click It or Ticket" (CIOT) Pennsylvania's Seat Belt Enforcement and Education Program "Buckle Up PA" (BUPA) that took place between May 16, 2016 and June 5, 2016. This is a PA State Funded program designed to battle and reduce traffic fatalities and injuries. The North Coventry Township Police Department conducted three separate traffic enforcement details as part of this program, including joining 15 other eastern states in NHTSA's "Border to Border" Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign that was conducted on May 23, 2016 between the hours of 1800-2200. Over the three details North Coventry Township Police made 56 total contacts and issued 56 total citations. 50 citations were issued for speeding, with the highest speed violation of 85 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone. 1 citation was issued for Obedience to Traffic Control Devices, 1 citation was issued for Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked, 1 citation was issued for Drivers Required to be Licensed, 1 citation was issued for Registration and Certificated of Title Required, 1 citation was issued for Operation of Vehicle without Official Certificate of Inspection, and 1 arrest for Public Drunkenness was made.
