NO SHAVE NOVEMBER FUNDRAISER RAISES OVER $2,500.00 for ST. JUDES CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Please excuse our appearance! Some of North Coventry Township Police Department’s finest will be showing some facial hair to raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer. These officers have decided to show their support for these heroes who are fighting hard in their battles against cancer. The North Coventry Township Police Department want these heroes to know they stand with them in their fight and hope to raise money and awareness to help wipe this horrible disease out. It is hard to find a person these days who have not been touched by cancer.
It is estimated that in 2017 alone there will be 1,688,780 new cancer cases diagnosed and 600,920 cancer deaths in the US. We lose approximately 22,000 men, women and children daily to cancer. Cancer is one of the leading deadliest diseases in the world and takes from all people regardless of their age, race or sex. North Coventry Township Police Department has also suffered a great loss at the hand of this disease when in 2008 we lost one of our own, Officer Josh Wuertz. Due to cancer, NCPD will never be the same.
“The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow awareness by embracing our hair, and letting it grow to show our support.” The Officers who have decided to join this noble cause have donated the money they would normally spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those in fighting the battle.
