Police patrolling Fourth Avenue came upon a pedestrian being attacked by a loose dog in the 500 block of W. 4th Avenue this morning. The adult male victim suffered bite wounds and lacerations to his legs. The victim was transported by ambulance from the scene. The dog was captured by police and its owner identified as a resident of Chesnut Street. An order of a "mandatory 10-day confinement" has been issued by the SPCA, who were called to the scene by police. Both police and the SPCA are taking official action. The dog was identified as a 1-year old black and tan German Shephard and confined pursuant to the Chester County SPCA directive. Records indicate the animal is current with all vaccinations. Police have filed a Dangerous Dog report with the Commonwealth, per statute. Confinement issues or violations related to this animal should be directed to the Chester County SPCA. The animal is confined to the property of 402 Chestnut Street, Parkesburg.
