Oscar Barajas, age 20 of Parkesburg, was charged with Resisting Arrest, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Mischief, Institutional Vandalism, Underage Drinking, Disorderly Conduct and Public Drunkenness, following a well-being check. The incident occurred on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 10:46 p.m., in the area of Baltimore Pike and Bancroft Road in New Garden Township. Police were dispatched to the area for a possible intoxicated person walking in the roadway. Upon arrival, Barajas ran from officers, but was taken into custody after a brief pursuit and found to have a sandwich bag of marijuana in his pants pocket. Barajas was uncooperative throughout the entire interaction, refusing to walk and refusing to be placed into the patrol car. He did damage to the patrol vehicle while resisting and kicked the window once inside. Barajas was transported to the Chester County Prison for processing and arraignment. He was released on bail. The case is pending a preliminary hearing.
