Christopher J. Gracie, age 30, of Kirkwood was arrested and charged with DUI and a related traffic offense, as well as with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64), following a traffic stop for erratic driving. The incident occurred on 01/06/2018 at approx. 7:21pm, in the area of Gap Newport Pike and Crossan Lane, in New Garden Township. Police received a complaint about a Jeep being driven in an erratic manner on northbound Gap Newport Pike. Police observed the vehicle serve into the opposite lane of travel and initiated a traffic stop. Police made contact with Gracie and found him to appear heavily intoxicated from an unknown substance. After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI (drugs). A custodial inventory search of the vehicle produced suspected heroin and related paraphernalia. Gracie was processed and later released pending issuance of a summons. Charges filed in MDC 15-4-04.
