A 17-year-old male from West Grove was arrested on 09/28/2017 and charged with Escape and Resisting Arrest, following an incident in the 100 block of West Evergreen Street, in West Grove Borough. Police were asked to assist officers from the Chester County Juvenile Probation Department, in apprehending the 17-year-old on a Bench Warrant for a Probation Violation. The juvenile fled his residence on foot and, after a foot pursuit, he was apprehended. While handcuffed and seated in the rear of the patrol car, with an officer seated next to him, the juvenile was able to reach the door handle and suddenly bolted from the vehicle, dragging the officer, who was holding on to him, out of the car. When the juvenile’s shirt ripped, he was able to break free of the officer’s grasp and he again fled on foot. However, he lost his footing and fell to the ground on Exchange Place and was again taken into custody, He was turned over to the Juvenile Probation Officers and new charges were filed through the juvenile court system.
