As the Holidays are upon us, so ‘tis the season for an increase in crime. Because people are shopping and buying gifts, they typically have more money and merchandise on hand than usual. Criminals know and exploit this. “Harden the target” by taking these simple steps to reduce your chances of being a victim of crime:
The SCCRPD welcomes three new part-time police officers to our roster. P.O. Nicole Lantz, P.O. Riley Miller, and P.O. Alexander Reed were sworn in last Thursday (11/14/2019) by Judge Matthew Seavey, Magisterial District Court 15-4-04, at the start of the Southern Chester County Regional Public Safety Commission Meeting. Both P.O. Lantz and P.O Reed bring prior police experience with them.
PFC. Mario Raimato and New Garden Township Supervisor Stephen Allaband helped Cecilia Rochester (of Toughkenamon) and her family celebrate her 100th birthday on Sunday. Mr. Allaband presented Mrs. Rochester with a proclamation from the township.
The theft of a package from the front porch of a residence in the 100 block of Hillside Avenue, in West Grove Borough, was captured on the resident's "Ring" doorbell. The crime occurred this morning at approx. 10:30 am. The suspect (pictured) can be seen on video taking the package from between the front doors.
PFC. Mario Raimato joined members of the Chester County Council - BSA Troop 12 in congratulating Jackson May, for achieving the highest rank in scouting. His Eagle Scout Board of Review was held on Wednesday November 6th, at the West Grove United Methodist Church. Congratulations Jackson - quite an accomplishment!
Officers from area police departments, including the SCCRPD, the Kennett Township Police Department, the Kennett Square Police Department, and Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale Station, attended the annual "Trunk or Treat" event held at the Unionville Presbyterian Church on Sunday October 27th. Police cars were decorated and candy was handed out to the children in attendance. Pictured are PFC.
