1/7/19 – 1300 block of Varnum Drive in Wayne. David Gleichman, 25, of Rochester, NY was charged with the following crimes after he was involved in a domestic dispute: Simple Assault; Harassment; Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Assault.
1/11/19 – Valley Forge Road in Wayne. During a traffic stop, the odor of alcohol was detected in the vehicle. Two female occupants – a 16 year old from Downingtown, PA and a 17 year old from West Chester, PA were charged with Underage Drinking.
1/12/19 – TJ Maxx in Gateway Shopping Center. Kaijana Johnson, 27, of Philadelphia, PA was charged with Retail Theft and False Identification to Law Enforcement after she exited the store without paying for merchandise and purposely providing officers with the wrong identification.
1/15/19 – Trader Joe’s in Gateway Shopping Center. The victim reported her wallet stolen from her purse which was in a shopping cart while in the store. Police remind residents to never leave your purses and wallets in shopping carts. It only takes seconds for the thief to distract you, steal your wallet then use your credit cards minutes later in an easily accessible store or mall before you realize it’s missing.
COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY / ASSAULT
1/17/19 – Acme Markets in Strafford. An unknown male attempted to make a purchase using a counterfeit bill. When the cashier proceeded to call the supervisor, the actor grabbed her wrists to stop the call and attempt to take the fraudulent bill. The suspect then fled the store with two unknown males. Shortly after, the same actors entered Walgreens in Paoli to make purchases using counterfeit currency. The cases are currently under investigation.
THEFT FROM VEHICLES / ATTEMPTS
There have been several reports of unlocked vehicles rummaged through during the overnight hours, some of which had items stolen. Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles at all times; even when parked in their own driveways. And never leave any valuables in the cars.
THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS WERE ARRESTED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. THE LAB RESULTS AND/OR CHEMICAL BREATH TESTING HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY VERIFIED AND DETERMINED TO BE UNFIT TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFELY ON THE ROADWAY.

Vincent Cassano, 37, of Berwyn, PA – BAC was .153%
Chris Brutsche, 50, of Wilmington, DE – BAC was .250%
Catherine Buttenbaum, 56, of Malvern, PA – BAC was .376%
Daniel Freas, 46, of Pottstown, PA – BAC was .182%
Tyler Freas, 24, of Wayne, PA – Amphetamine, Xanax and Marijuana were detected in his system.
Steven Rivera, 31, of Coatesville, PA – Methamphetamine, Xanax, Heroin, Codeine & Fentanyl were detected in his system.
