Press Release - September 22, 2016

FLEEING

9/15/16 at 0107 hours – Route 202. While on patrol, officers observed a motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed who was not stopping when police attempted to stop the driver. Finally, after a brief chase, the driver did stop. The driver, Vincent Rotelle, 22, of Collegeville, PA was subsequently charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS

9/16/16 at 1140 hours – Grove Avenue in Devon. A 46 year old female from Phoenixville, PA was charged with Public Drunkenness.

POSSESSION

9/17/16 at 0129 hours – Route 202. During a traffic stop, Scott Allen Risser, 24, of Lancaster, PA was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

9/17/16 – The following streets in the Paoli and Berwyn areas had several unlocked vehicles rummaged through during the overnight hours by actor(s) unknown: Golf Club Lane, Fairway Road, Greene Road, Williams Lane, Beechwood Road, Carol Lane and Donalyn Lane. Loose change and miscellaneous items were stolen. 

***POLICE REMIND RESIDENTS TO LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS AT ALL TIMES, EVEN WHILE PARKED IN YOUR OWN DRIVEWAY, AND NEVER LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN THERE.  

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

9/18/16 at 1658 hours – Chuck E. Cheese in Berwyn. A 23 year old female from Bala Cynwyd, PA and a 25 year old female from North Plainfield, NJ were charged with Disorderly Conduct after they were involved in an altercation.

THEFT

9/20/16 at 1629 hours – Lancaster Avenue in Devon. An employee reported several memory cards stolen from the office. It is unknown when the theft occurred.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY ARRESTS

On 5/19/16 at 2018 hours, Tredyffrin Township Police were dispatched to the Gateway Shopping Center for a Strong-arm Robbery that just occurred. Police units responded finding the victim laying on the ground bleeding and complaining of pain. The victim was subsequently interviewed at Paoli Hospital in the emergency room stating she was walking in the parking lot of the Gateway Shopping Center, a vehicle drove by slowly, the passenger reached out snatching her purse.  During the course of the theft the victim suffered lacerations, abrasions to her facial area. The victim was treated and released locally. The actors then used the victim’s credit cards at various local stores.

Three actors were later identified as Elana Trozzi, 28 years of age, 100 block of J Stony Lane, Dover, PA; Andrew Laban-Maclay, 28 years of age, 200 block of Mayfield St., Harrisburg, PA and Andrew Paul Davis, 26 years of age, 100 block of Elmwood Building, Middletown, PA. The subjects were captured and confined in North Carolina on unrelated charges to include Fleeing and Eluding Police.

Trozzi and Laban-Maclay were extradited back to Adams, Cumberland and Chester County, Pennsylvania and were arrested on our local charges on August 25th, 2016:  Robbery, a Felony of the First Degree; Criminal Conspiracy to Robbery, a Felony of the First Degree; Identity Theft, a Felony of the Third Degree; Simple Assault, a Misdemeanor of the Second Degree; Access Device Fraud, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree; Theft by Unlawful Taking, a Misdemeanor the First Degree; Receiving Stolen Property, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree and Forgery, a Felony of the Second Degree.

A preliminary hearing was held at the Chesterbrook District Court on Friday, September 9th for Andrew Laban-Maclay. Magisterial District Judge Analisa Sondergaard presided. All charges were bound over to the Court of Common Pleas.

A second preliminary hearing was held on September 16th, 2016 for Elana Trozzi. Charges against Trozzi were dismissed.

Andrew Davis is still confined in North Carolina pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
