On Wednesday October 28, 2020 Daquan Rakeem Johnson was extradited from Saratoga County, New York to Chester County, Pennsylvania on an arrest warrant issued by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.
In 2018 WEGO PD obtained an arrest warrant for Daquan Rakeem Johnson following an investigation into a theft from a motor vehicle. The theft occurred in the East Goshen YMCA parking lot on August 4, 2018. The victim reported their car window was broken and a purse containing personal effects was missing. Also found in the parking lot was a license plate of a vehicle, which was stolen from a Montgomery County Country Club parking lot the same day. Vehicles parked at the Country Club also fell victim to similar window damage and thefts.
On August 18, 2020 Saratoga County (NY) Sheriff's Office responded to reports of unoccupied vehicles with broken windows and property stolen from within. Officers obtained a description of the suspect vehicle, and soon after the New York State Park Police located and attempted to stop a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle fled from officers southbound on Route 9 through Saratoga Springs, NY. The suspect, later identified as Daquan R. Johnson, 27, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, led officers on a pursuit, eventually abandoning the vehicle and fleeing into the woods, where he was located and taken into custody.
Daquan R. Johnson is currently being held at Chester County Prison, $25,000.00 cash bail and awaiting extradition to New Jersey for another unrelated arrest warrant. Daquan R. Johnson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 4, 2020 at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Thomas Tartaglio at District Court 15-1-02.
