On April 3rd, 2021 the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department was contacted by a victim who stated that a credit check was done by an automotive dealership in Westtown Township without his knowledge or authorization. A quick investigation done by police found that the victim’s identity was being fraudulently used to purchase a vehicle.
Thomas Owen from Ansonia, Connecticut was arrested by police when he entered the dealership later in the day in order to complete the fraudulent purchase of the vehicle. Owen had identification cards in his possession that contained the victim's personal information along with Owen's picture at the time of arrest.
Owen was arrested and transported to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail.
