On Monday April 20th, 2020 at around 0720 hours, a Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Officer was on patrol in the area of the Saints Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Westtown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the church parking lot. The officer checked the interior of the church and located the registered owner of the suspicious vehicle. During the course of the investigation the subject fled on foot from the church property. The subject was located by assisting officers in a shopping center just west of the church. The subject was found to be in possession of a “fish tool.” The subject attempted to steal money from the donation boxes in the church but was interrupted by the officer.
The subject, Derrick C. ROBINSON was released. Charges have been filed via summons for ROBINSON to appear in front of District Justice Martin G. GOCH.
