Rustin High School Mock Crash

On Monday April 1, 2019, members of the Westtown East Goshen Police Department Traffic Safety Unit assisted Rustin High School with their annual Mock Crash.  Each year the 11th grade class gets to see the tragic results of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  In this presentation, two crashed vehicles are staged and students get to observe the immediate aftermath of the crash, including hearing the 911 call, seeing the police and fire department response, watching an intoxicated driver getting arrested and the Coroner removing a body from the scene.  The student and adult actors do an excellent job of making this a realistic event that has a profound impact on those watching.

The Westtown East Goshen Police department would like to extend our thanks to the West Chester Area School District, Abel Brothers Towing, Goshen Fire Company, Make-Up Artist Jerry Peters and most of all the participating students for their commitment to help save lives in our community.
