Serious Crash Investigation Boot Road and Barker Drive in East Goshen Township

SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH INVESTIGATION IN EAST GOSHEN TOWNSHIP

On November 19, 2018 at 9:05 AM the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department responded to the intersection of Boot Road and Barker Drive in East Goshen Township for a three vehicle accident.

The driver of a Honda Accord made a left turn towards Barker Drive from Boot Road and drove into the path of a Toyota Solara. After these two vehicles collided, the Toyota Solara hit a third vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign on Barker Drive at Boot Road.

The two elderly occupants in the Toyota Solara suffered serious injuries and were transported to Paoli Hospital by Goshen Ambulance and Good Fellowship Ambulance Medics.

The driver of the Honda Accord fled the scene on foot before police arrived and a detailed search of the area was conducted with negative results.

Members of the Traffic Safety Unit conducted the scene investigation and the roadway was closed to all traffic for approximately 3 hours.

Detectives worked throughout the day looking for the 20 year old driver of the Honda and at 6:50 PM the individual appeared at the police department to provide information about the accident.

This accident remains under investigation and police are seeking anyone who witnessed the accident, saw someone walking away from the scene or any resident who may have confronted the subject near a shed in their backyard. It is believed that this occurred at a residence in East Goshen Township or West Goshen Township.

The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department was assisted by the West Goshen Township Police Department, Willistown Township Police Department, the Chester County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, Goshen Ambulance, Goshen Fire Police, Good Fellowship Medics and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
