On Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 0729 hours West Chester Police responded to the 100 block of West Union Street for an assault. Upon arrival officers observed the victim bleeding from his face and head. He advised he was struck in the face with a skateboard by James Travis who fled the area prior to officers arrival. Other officers responded to Travis' residence in the 500 block of North Newt Street and took Travis into custody as he arrived at his residence. The victim was transported to Chester County Hospital for a laceration above his eye. During the assault a window and other items were damaged inside the residence. Travis was arraigned on charges of Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possessing an Instrument of a Crime, and Criminal Mischief. Travis was remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of $7500 cash bail.
