On September 18, 2024 at 2:54 pm the Oxford Police were dispatched to the 400 Blk Market Street for a report of a disturbance with one subject displaying a knife.  Officers arrived on location and made contact with the victims and suspect, Jose Alvarez Pineda, 18, of El Salvador.  The victim states that she was inside an apartment with Alvarez Pineda when he pulled out a knife and threatened her.  The adult victim was holding a small child when the threat occurred.  Officers attempted to detain and question Alvarez Pineda but he would not comply with instructions and was taken into custody.  Alvarez Pineda was transported to Chester County Hospital for minor injuries before being transported by Constables to Chester County Prison.

Alvarez Pineda was arraigned and is being held on a $100,000 cash bail.  A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for October 1, 2024 at the Oxford District Court.
