On May 23, 2022 at 1:34 pm the Oxford Police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Blk of Hodgson Street on a vehicle in which the registered owner was shown to have multiple arrest warrants.  Officers made contact with the operator, Kevin Avila, 24, of Oxford, who provided Police with a false name.  Officers however knew his real identity and attempted to take Avila into custody.  Avila did resist and, after a brief struggle, was placed into custody. It was confirmed that Avila did have 2 active Bench Warrants for his arrest. The odor of marijuana was strong throughout Avila's vehicle therefore a search warrant was obtained from Oxford District Court and the vehicle was searched and released to the registered owner. Avila was transported by Constables to Chester County Prison on the Bench Warrants and will have a detainer lodged for the current criminal charges
