On September 16, 2022 at 2:37 am the Oxford Police were dispatched to the area of South Third Street and Market Street for a disturbance involving a firearm. The suspect, Omar Baena, 38, of Oxford pulled up to the victims after a road rage incident and displayed a black handgun. Officers located Baena's vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Market Street and Niblock alley. Baena failed to stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued which ended in a parking lot in the 200 blk South Third Street. Baena exited his vehicle and attempted to flee but was apprehended by Officers after a brief foot pursuit. A search incident to arrest yielded a loaded black handgun concealed in his waistband. Baena was transported by Constables to Chester County Prison.
On September 27, 2022 Baena failed to appear at a preliminary hearing, therefore a bench warrant will be issued by the Chester County Court of Common Pleas.
