On September 25, 2022 at 12:36 pm the Oxford Police were dispatched to a hit and run accident that occurred on South Third Street when the suspect vehicle struck a parked vehicle.  A witness followed the striking vehicle to the 500 Blk Lincoln Street and contacted Police. Upon arrival Police made contact with several occupants of the vehicle and learned that the operator of the vehicle was a 17 yo male from North East, MD. The juvenile appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was requested to submit to Field Sobriety Tests.  The juvenile was unsuccessful in his attempts to complete the tests and was placed into custody for Driving Under the Influence.   The juvenile provided a breath sample and was processed and released to a family member pending a summons to the Juvenile Courts.
