The Oxford Police are investigating an attempted burglary at the gas station at 203 South Third Street that occurred on June 6, 2022 at 1:36 am. T he suspect, seen in the attached photos and video, threw a rock into the window and attempted to gain access to merchandise inside. This same suspect may be involved in two arson incidents that occurred on South Fifth Street around the same timeframe. The arson incidents involved a suspect who approached the porches of two separate residences and set a United States flag on fire. Luckily, a passerby noticed the fire and alerted the homeowners. We are asking for the public to assist in identifying this suspect in the photo and for all residents to check their surveillance cameras for footage of the suspect.
