Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle (2017 dark blue GMC Acadia, PA REG/ LKF-6567) stolen from the 600 blk. of W 2nd Ave on March 13, 2021, around 8:20 AM. The victim reported the vehicle was unlocked, engine running and left it unattended. 

UPDATE- In the early morning of Thursday, March 18th, PA State Police, Avondale, recovered this stolen vehicle unoccupied in southern Chester County. Police are processing the vehicle for physical evidence related to the theft. Police remind all motorists that leaving a vehicle unattended, unsecure with the engine running is subject to summary violation. Please don't leave your vehicle running and unattended. It's an invitation for criminal activity and an opportunity for criminals to take full advantage of.  

  § 3701. Unattended motor vehicle

(a) General rule.--No person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall permit the vehicle to stand unattended without placing the gear shift lever in a position which under the circumstances impedes the movement of the vehicle, stopping the engine, locking the ignition in vehicles so equipped, removing the key from the ignition and, when standing upon any grade, turning the front wheels to the curb or side of the highway and effectively setting the brake.
