On April 20, 2025, at 10:32 AM, West Chester Police conducted a traffic stop on a Silver Subaru sedan in the 300 block of Middle Alley, West Chester Borough. The operator provided false identifying information to the officer but was later identified as Kevin Velazquez-Gasca, 22 of West Chester, PA.  The officer attempted to remove the operator from the vehicle to continue the investigation, but Velazquez-Gasca put the vehicle in drive and fled from the traffic stop. The information was relayed to county units and Velazquez-Gasca was eventually taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale barracks within an hour of the original traffic stop. Velazquez-Gasca was transported to the West Chester Police Department for processing and then transported to the Chester County Prison for arraignment.
