On 3/7/2020, members of the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team (WCRERT) volunteered for a "touch a truck" event at the Chester County Hospital Foundation Open House.  The WCRERT is comprised of officers from West Whiteland Township, Willistown Township, West Chester Borough, West Goshen Township, Westtown East Goshen Township, Uwchlan Township and West Chester University Police Departments. These carefully selected officers undergo rigorous physical and specialized training which allows them to respond to a variety of high-risk incidents which require an extraordinary level of team work and skill. In addition to high risk incidents, the team participates in crisis negotiation, searches for missing persons and protection details. Team members participate in several community events such as this one annually.
