Project ChildSafe® is a nationwide education program that promotes responsible gun ownership and safe storage of firearms in the home. The program was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearm industry, to raise awareness about firearm safety. Central to the program are the free cable-style gun locks and educational materials gun owners can use to securely store their guns away from unauthorized persons, including children, at-risk individuals and criminals.
West Whiteland Township Police Department has partnered with Project ChildSafe to provide free gun safety kits, including a gun lock. If you would like to get a gun safety kit, stop by our Police Department and speak with our awesome Police Administrative Assistant Sara (via the main entrance). You can stop in anytime between the hours of 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday.
